Photo Challenge: Day 5, 6, 7

Day 5- From a high angle
I LOVE messing with angles in photography so I love the challenge for days 5 and 6. For day 5 I took the photo from a high angle looking directly down on a stump of a pinot gris plant. This photo to me is fascinating because its an up close look at what the grape plant looks like in the winter. The moss is a beautiful addition to the photo too!

Day 6- From a low angle
This photo I took from a low angle, meaning I was kneeling down. I love taking photos of the vineyard throughout the year because it is changing so much and it is so breathtaking. This photo was taken in a block of pinot noir.

Day 7- Fruit

Some of you may wonder what the above photo has to do with fruit. Well, the above photo is of a vine of muller-thurgau. This is what the current state of the plants are. They basically look like a bunch of twigs right now. The knob on the vine is where the bud of the new grape vine sprouts at in the spring to produce beautiful fruit that is used to create some delicious wine!

Andina- Portland, Oregon

Something that I live for when I go out and dine at restaurants is a meal that not only excites me, but a meal that leaves me telling everyone I know about the foods I enjoyed. This is exactly the feeling that I have about a stunning restaurant in Portland called Andina. This restaurant provides a dining experience that everyone should MUST try. Andina is a Peruvian restaurant that serves elegant courses that are both delicious and beautiful. This past weekend Monica and Claire were in town to tour the Willamette Valley with Beau and me. Claire had done her research and suggested we dine at Andina, so we did!

Their menu has a great variety of Peruvian foods, most of which I am unfamiliar with. There is everything from seafood to beef on the menu. They have entrees, or you can order tapas! We went with the tapas plates and gorged ourselves with some extraordinary culinary creations. Warning: Tons of foodporn photos lurk below!

 I am certain I can speak for the whole group and say that this is one of the best meals that we have ever had. Nothing lacked in flavor, texture or quality. Everything was PERFECT! This place gets my highest recommendation as a place to dine in Portland.

I would like to thank the staff for the wonderful dining experience. A special thank you to the Platt Rodriguez family for creating such a wonderful place to enjoy in Portland.
